As the peak Australian body for Spiritual Care, Spiritual Care Australia (SCA) recognises the importance of having professional, skilled, and experienced practitioners whose capabilities and competence can be assessed and credentialed according to a capabilities framework.

Our Association is committed to ensuring excellence in the practice of spiritual care in all industries and sectors around our country. Members of Spiritual Care Australia come from a wide variety of beliefs and cultural backgrounds. They work in hospitals, aged care, the emergency services, the defence forces, prisons, schools, universities, workplaces and in the community. Our membership is made up of full-time and part-time spiritual carers, some in paid positions and some in voluntary capacities. Common roles include Spiritual Care, Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy.

Your main duties will include: Skills & Experience Extensive experience in working within a hospital, aged care or community based setting. Person of faith who is well formed in the Catholic tradition and ethical principles, including ability to uphold the Catholic identity of the organisation. Sound knowledge of the principles of Catholic health and able to understanding the plurality of religions and cultures that will be encountered among staff, volunteers, patients and their families and the community. Outstanding emotional intelligence and communication, facilitation, interpersonal, relationship building, risk and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and capability to lead individuals and communities through times of uncertainty, change and transformation. A team builder. Through the use of organisational processes ensuring that all administration and documentation requirements are initiated and completed in a professional and timely manner. About you Essential: One Basic Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education and/or a Pastoral Ministry Course and/or equivalent qualification and/or extensive relevant experience.
