Members of Spiritual Care Australia come from a wide variety of beliefs and cultural backgrounds. They work in hospitals, aged care, the emergency services, the defence forces, prisons, schools, universities, workplaces and in the community. Common roles include Spiritual Care, Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy.

Hours: Full Time Location: Melbourne (with some travel to Tasmania) Applications Close: 16th September 2024 Background This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, innovative person to join Uniting AgeWell’s (UA’s) Mission Team; A team with wide skills and experiences seeking to raise the practice and professionalism of spiritual care across the organisation. Position Purpose To support the Director of Mission and Mission Team in embedding UA’s vision for spiritual care through the management and guidance of chaplains and spiritual care practitioners, and the implementation of strategies and initiatives. The Spiritual Care Manager will: • Understand the context of providing and managing spiritual care within an organisation. • Lead, manage, and guide chaplains and spiritual care practitioners in the delivery and development of spiritual care and spiritual care leadership. • Value and develop collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the organisation. • Encourage open, respectful, and creative teamwork within the spiritual care team. • Ensure chaplains provide a high-level honouring, safe, person-centered spiritual care that is both accountable and meets the emotional, spiritual and religious needs of residents, families & staff. • Participate fully in recruitment processes, lead monthly chaplain/spiritual care meetings, and conduct performance development plan reviews. About you: You have a strong commitment to safe and respectful spiritual care, that includes religious, spiritual, and secular care for people from a variety of cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds and experiences.
